Jennifer McTigue tells How to Meditate Yourself?

Jennifer McTigue says before starting, it is best to get acquainted with the way your mind works, and what you can expect from it as you sit to meditate. When you first begin meditating, you might notice your mind starts wandering.
Anytime you notice your mind has wandered, take a deep breath and truly pay attention to how that feels, and then return to your meditation. In typical mindfulness meditation, you may spend some time breathing deeply, or you may even scan the entire body, working from the tips of your toes up to the crown of your head. When meditating, you may use a technique (such as conscious breathing awareness or visualization) to keep your focus, and when your mind drifts off to something else, like your to-do list or work, you regain focus gently through meditation techniques.
Generally, meditation involves paying attention in order to quiet your mind. Anything done with one single focus point may be considered meditation. There is no single correct way to meditate, and meditation can take on a variety of forms.
